Merrin Easton is one of the most sought after newborn photographers in her area, specialising in brand new babies and toddlers.
The newborn session is best in the first 7-10 days to capture their curly newborn appearance. The babies tend to be more sleepy and will move less disturbed before10 days old. You can sit and enjoy while Merrin slowly and carefully moves your baby around and waits for he/she to sleep so she can pose them perfectly. This beautiful stage in your new baby’s life is fleeting and an important time to capture.
New babies are perfect portrait subjects at around 7-10 days old when they’re very sleepy and curly, so to ensure a session, it is highly advised that you organise your session while you are still pregnant. While we will do our best to accommodate last minute bookings, to ensure the very best service for our clients, it is essential we’re able to pencil in your due date well ahead of your baby’s arrival, we are very flexible with changing the session upon arrival to ensure they are booked in under 10 days old.
If you miss out on the newborn session the next best thing is a MINI SESSION at either 5 weeks, 3 months or I highly recommend around 7-8 months when they can sit up alone but before they crawl or walk, when we can capture the sweet smiles and cute little chubby bits of babies at this age.
Photography sessions are held in our studio just north of Levin on Waitarere Beach Road. All props, blankets, hats and wraps you see on the website are available to utilise in your pregnancy, newborn or baby session, all you need to bring is your gorgeous little babe, relax on the lounge with a cuppa and enjoy your baby’s photo shoot.
Newborn sessions typically last for around 2 to 3 hours, depending on how hungry or sleepy baby is feeling. Mini sessions are between 1-2 hours. We will never rush your little one as each baby has their own schedule – Our sessions are relaxed and casual.
Please contact Merrin to advise her of your estimated due date and pencil in a session for your pregnancy or baby. Once your baby has arrived, we can lock in a convenient date and time for your newborn baby’s portraits.
Merrin loves photographing babies and always ensures everything is perfect for your photographs. She will retouch every image carefully one by one and has the very best equipment and programs to ensure the end result is of a very high fine art standard.
